It&#8217;s hard to beat.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'Open Sans';\">A new <span class=\"mark9xzmaz057\" data-markjs=\"true\" data-ogac=\"\" data-ogab=\"\" data-ogsc=\"\" data-ogsb=\"\">grant<\/span> will pay for residents of Rutherford and Polk counties to get short-term job certifications.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'Open Sans';\">The programs include:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'Open Sans';\">Professional Truck Driving<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'Open Sans';\">Massage Therapy<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'Open Sans';\">Pharmacy Technician<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'Open Sans';\">Healthcare Billing and Coding<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'Open Sans';\">Phlebotomy<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'Open Sans';\">EMT and Paramedic Technician<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'Open Sans';\">\u201cWe are pleased to announce the Isothermal <span class=\"markfrsrk40j2\" data-markjs=\"true\" data-ogac=\"\" data-ogab=\"\" data-ogsc=\"\" data-ogsb=\"\">Workforce<\/span> <span class=\"mark9xzmaz057\" data-markjs=\"true\" data-ogac=\"\" data-ogab=\"\" data-ogsc=\"\" data-ogsb=\"\">Grant<\/span>, which will help students pay for these <span class=\"markfrsrk40j2\" data-markjs=\"true\" data-ogac=\"\" data-ogab=\"\" data-ogsc=\"\" data-ogsb=\"\">workforce\u00a0<\/span>certifications that are not always covered by conventional financial aid,\u201d said Dr. Greg Thomas, vice president of Academic and Student Affairs. \u201cThese are high demand jobs in healthcare, transportation and human services that pay well and can provide great opportunity in our community.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'Open Sans';\">The money for the new <span class=\"mark9xzmaz057\" data-markjs=\"true\" data-ogac=\"\" data-ogab=\"\" data-ogsc=\"\" data-ogsb=\"\">grant<\/span> program comes from Isothermal\u2019s institutional scholarship funds and was approved late last year by the college\u2019s board of trustees.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'Open Sans';\">For information about signing up for any of these programs, contact Dee Spurlin at\u00a0<span style=\"font-family: 'Open Sans Bold';\"><a id=\"LPlnk777541\" href=\"mailto:dspurlin@isothermal.edu\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-auth=\"NotApplicable\" data-safelink=\"true\" data-linkindex=\"0\">dspurlin@isothermal.edu<\/a><\/span>\u00a0or 828-395-1416.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A new marketable skill quick at the right price?
